As
co-founder and executive vice president of iBasis,
Gordon VanderBrug shares overall responsibility
for the company's financial performance with Ofer
Gneezy and in addition, oversees the company's
marketing initiatives. Prior to founding iBasis
with Gneezy, Gordon served as director
of marketing for Polaroid Corporation where he
led the development of new businesses in the digital
systems marketplace for the $2.5 billion company.
He was also directly responsible for developing
and executing the system and software components
of the company's strategy to "transition"
its markets from photographically-based solutions
to digitally-based solutions.
Previously, Gordon
was vice president at Language Technology, Inc.,
a pioneering company in the field of software
development tools. VanderBrug led the development
and marketing of new products and services and
established business relationships with numerous
Fortune 500 companies. Prior to Language Technology,
Inc., Gordon was a cofounder of Automatix,
Inc., one of the early and key suppliers of industrial
automation systems that pioneered the introduction
of microprocessors to the factory floor. He holds
a Ph.D. in computer science from the University
of Maryland, an M.A. in mathematics from Wayne
State University and a B.A. in mathematics from
Calvin College.
