Convergys and iBasis Raise the Bar for VoCore With Carrier-class Customer Care Services

iBasis VoCore VoCore Solution Now Offers Convergys' Integrated Subscriber Billing, Collection, and 24x7 Customer Care Services

BURLINGTON, MA, and CINCINNATI, OH; September 5, 2000 - - iBasis, Inc., (Nasdaq: IBAS), the leader in advanced Internet-based communications and Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), the global leader in integrated billing and customer care services, today announced that they have signed an agreement to enhance customer care for iBasis' VoCore (SM) VoCore solution.

Under the terms of the agreement, iBasis' service provider customers will now have the option to extend the professional support services of Convergys to their VoCore subscribers. Convergys is the world leader in integrated billing and customer care services for many of the world's largest carriers.

iBasis VoCore is a hosted VoCore solution that enables service providers like CLECs, ASPs, and ISPs to deliver quickly and efficiently new, value-added services that integrate email, voicemail, fax, real-time communications, and the Web. VoCore delivers control of communications to the service subscribers enabling them to choose when, how (phone, pager, standard PC mail client,) and from whom they will receive calls and messages. iBasis VoCore also provides advanced, real-time communications capabilities - such as one touch callback, outbound calling, message notification and single number reach - with call-screening services that enhance mobile accessibility and increase call completion rates.

With today's announcement, the VoCore solution offers iBasis' service provider customers the option of using Convergys' fully brandable subscriber billing, collection and, customer care services. This new support option has been tightly integrated with the iBasis VoCore solution and features Catalys (SM), Convergys' carrier class subscriber billing, collection, and customer care services. The solution also offers a dedicated contact center staffed 24x7 by expertly trained customer care representatives prepared to handle all subscriber interactions and transactions.

Convergys' outsourced Internet billing and customer care services enable wireless, wireline, cable, and Internet service providers to bring new Internet-based solutions like iBasis VoCore VoCore quickly to market - with minimal up-front capital investment. Key features of this joint solution include e-commerce support, real-time processing capabilities, pre- and post-pay support. Robust self-care features include PDA support, support for multiple ISPs on a single implementation, and international capabilities, including multi-currency and multi-language functionality.
