iBasis Names Louis Eslami Vice President of Sales for Europe, Middle East
and Africa
BURLINGTON, Mass. - January 3, 2008 - iBasis, Inc. (NASDAQ:
IBAS), a KPN affiliate, today announced that it has named telecom industry veteran Louis
Eslami to the position of Vice President of Sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa
(EMEA).
Eslami brings two decades of experience in the telecommunications and
internet sectors to iBasis, including senior management positions at FLAG Telecom, GTS
Group, Sprint, and MCI. Eslami has been responsible for building effective sales teams
across EMEA, US and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining iBasis, Eslami was Vice President of
International Sales -- EMEA, Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets for Getty
Images, a leading global on-line media company.
Eslami is responsible for building iBasis' international voice business
with incumbent and emerging carriers, Internet Service Providers and mobile operators
across a very large and diverse region that ranges from the Nordic countries to South
Africa and from the U.K. to the CIS countries. He reports to iBasis Senior Vice President
of Global Sales Edwin van Ierland.
