DirectVoIP™ Broadband

DirectVoIP BroadbandDirectVoIP Broadband enables voice over broadband providers to take full advantage of the iBasis Network, the same extensive international voice over IP network used by the world's largest carriers and millions of voice over broadband subscribers for cost-effective international calling services. Ranked by carriers as the top international wholesale carrier for three years in a row, iBasis is one of the ten largest carriers of international phone calls and carries approximately 16% of the world's international VoIP traffic .

Building on its predecessor, which was named Product of the Year by the publishers of Internet Telephony Magazine, DirectVoIP Broadband meets the security, scalability and operational needs of broadband service providers, making it possible for them to deliver high quality voice services at competitive prices, increase average revenue per user, and expand their customer base. Combined with iBasis PremiumCertified™ international routing, DirectVoIP Broadband offers a complete solution for high quality voice over broadband service.

Fast and Simplified VoIP Interconnections for International Call Termination

With DirectVoIP Broadband, VoIP deployments are completed and activated in days in contrast to the weeks typically required for interconnects to traditional TDM carriers. DirectVoIP Broadband also facilitates operational support, making IP interconnects easier to maintain and monitor for high quality of service.

Cost-Effective and Scalable Interconnects

iBasis DirectVoIP Broadband enables service providers to reduce the capital and operating costs required for international voice services. DirectVoIP Broadband allows cost-effective and scalable VoIP interconnects to carriers and providers, eliminating the need for increased capital expense associated with fixed TDM circuits, local loops, digital cross-connect switches and gateway ports in global interconnect facilities and data centers.

SIP and H323 Protocol Capable - Enhanced Interoperability

DirectVoIP Broadband leverages iBasis' extensive interoperability capabilities in supporting a range of VoIP infrastructure equipment. DirectVoIP Broadband enables operability among gateways, gatekeepers, proxy servers, session border controllers, softswitches, IP phones and PC-Phone applications that have been DirectVoIP Certified. DirectVoIP Broadband also provides enhanced call signaling control and conversion using standards-based protocols such as SIP and H.323 thus allowing a large array of IP phones and PC-Phone applications to operate effectively with the iBasis network.

SIP Interconnect Authentication and VoIP Codec Trans-coding Capability

DirectVoIP Broadband provides service providers that interconnect with the iBasis network key capabilities such as SIP authentication (network to network) and codec trans-coding and conversion. This capability provides for industry standard SIP authentication methods between iBasis and service provider networks along with codec conversion from G.711 and G.726 to G.729 and G.723 that may be incorporated into IP phone and other VoIP applications and clients.

A Global Network & Regionalized Architecture

Regional hubs and ingress points on each continent enable broadband service providers to interconnect directly and immediately expand customers' reach. Multi-protocol capability, device interoperability, network-to-network SIP authentication, and trans-coding capabilities are provided through iBasis's facilities and demarcation points around the globe using SIP proxies, Session Border Controllers, and trans-coding systems within the network ingress points.

Service providers also benefit from iBasis proprietary technologies—Assured Quality Routing® and PathEngine™, which deliver consistently high quality while ensuring high call completion.

iBasis DirectVoIP Certification

Through vigorous lab and field testing the iBasis DirectVoIP certification program assures that VoIP devices from specified vendors have been proven to interoperate with the iBasis Network, thereby simplifying the process of interconnecting to the leading international VoIP network. The program tests VoIP network elements and devices such as gateways, IP phone and PC-phone clients, session border controllers and softswitches. The list of DirectVoIP Certified equipment is updated on the iBasis website. In addition, iBasis interoperability experts assist with certification, testing and design of customer's networks and capability.
